Manufacturing Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager - Plating


 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Established company with a large part of the U.S. market share in what they manufacture located  in southwest suburban Atlanta has an opportunity for either a Manufacturing Supervisor – Plating or a  Manufacturing Manager – Plating.   The position serves in the overall function and operation of the plating department on a daily basis by performing the following duties.  Safety, production, and quality are all primary responsibilities. Production planning and scheduling is an important aspect of the role as well.   Will supervise 12 people in this role.  This day shift opportunity is 10 hours days Monday thru Thursday and some hours on Friday.  The hours could vary some.  There are major company benefits, 401K with 100% match to 5%, as well as bonus potential.  The salary range is competitive.  Relocation assistance is also associated with this position.    

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "May.")

 

  1. Coordinates daily scheduling, and utilizes personnel in an effective manner.
  2. Ensures established controls over a the plating chemical process
  3. Observe and institute any needed corrective actions for process optimization
  4. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in electroplating, rack stripping, finishing, and inspecting of finished product.
  5. Knowledge of production plating processes, procedures, and the control there of.
  6. Oversees the implementation of any corrective actions to plating process.
  7. Coordinates all continuous improvement projects.
  8. Aids in maintaining any quality system requirements.
  9. Ensures that all plating personnel are provided with the proper training, work instructions, control plans, or whatever tools are required to maintain process parameters to specifications.
  10. Ensures that any preventative or predictive maintenance activities are performed.
  11. Ensures appropriate training of all lab personnel with most current analytical techniques and procedures.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

 

  1. Prefer a bachelor degree, but will consider less.  Needs to be chemical related as to the education.  Needed is at least 2 years plating related supervision experience in a manufacturing environment to be considered as a Manufacturing Supervisor and at least 2 years of experience at the managerial level with plating in a manufacturing environment to be considered as a Manufacturing Manager.
  2. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; via aid of a calculator.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms.  Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
