Job description:
The Senior Director of Product Solutions Group leads the strategy and development of robotic solutions, focusing on cutting-edge products for industrial applications like welding, assembly, and material handling at a top industrial robotics company.
- Product Strategy and Planning: Theyre responsible for creating and executing a roadmap for new robotic products, ensuring they meet market needs, stay competitive, and drive innovation in automation.
- Engineering and Technical Expertise: The role requires deep knowledge of robotics, including ROS (Robot Operating System), AI, high-level programming languages (like C# or C++), and familiarity with tools like NVIDIA for AI and simulation, to guide the engineering teams.
- Capital Equipment Design and Integration: They oversee the design and integration of robotic systems into manufacturing workflows, ensuring the hardware and software work seamlessly in real-world settings.
- Global Team Collaboration: The Senior Director manages and coordinates global, cross-functional teams, working with international stakeholders across a 28-country network to align on goals and deliverables.
- Quality and Standards Compliance: They ensure products meet industry standards like ISO 9001, focusing on quality, safety, and compliance while delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Program and Budget Management: They handle large-scale projects, manage budgets (potentially millions), and use program management skills to drive projects from concept to deployment, ensuring efficiency and success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Masters degree in Engineering or MBA
- Ten plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong understanding of systems and a strong understanding of all automated processes along with application of those processes (i.e. welding, cutting, case packing, palletizing).
- Sound understanding of electrical hardware, controller, and mechanical and software systems.
- In-depth understanding of Sales/Marketing and Operations is desirable.
- Planning, coordination, training experience required. Possesses strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, as well as presentation skills for reporting departmental performance to others including, but not limited to the executive staff. Ability to motivate staff. Has a solid technical foundation reinforced with a good understanding of business and legal issues.
