Position Overview:A well-established structural engineering firm in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join their team as a full-time Assistant Project Manager. This role is ideal for a driven structural engineer looking to advance their career by leading projects and mentoring junior team members. You will oversee projects from concept to completion and manage a team of 13 staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects through all phases
  • Supervise and support a small team of engineers and drafters
  • Produce structural analysis, designs, calculations, and details
  • Review project contracts, scopes of work, change orders, and related documentation
  • Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Architectural Engineering with Structural or Civil emphasis
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California
  • Minimum 3 years of structural engineering design experience
  • Prior experience managing project teams
  • Proficiency with structural calculations for commercial, educational, and/or solar projects
  • Experience using AutoCAD 2015 or newer (2D)
  • Familiarity with Enercalc and RISA
  • Competence in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Adobe tools
