In this role, youll lead electrical system design for both new construction and renovation projects, many of which are MEP/FP-focused. Youll navigate real-world constraints, solve intricate design challenges, and ensure buildability in operational facilities. Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical system design for new and renovated buildings, including lighting, lighting controls, and interior/exterior power distribution.
- Serve as assistant project manager, managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Conduct field investigations, surveys, and code analysis to inform design solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Communicate directly with clients, supporting relationship building and project development.
- Provide innovative, practical solutions that meet technical, operational, and budgetary requirements.
- Contribute to maintaining the firms exceptional client referral rate (95%).
Qualifications:
Qualifications & Requirements- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: 1020 years of professional experience in electrical engineering design, particularly in lighting, power distribution, and controls.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Medium-voltage (MV) distribution experience preferred.
- Familiarity with federal sector projects, including UFC, UFGS, and FAR.
- RCDD certification is a plus.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, SKM, or EasyPower.
- Strong leadership, communication, and project management abilities.
- Additional Requirements:
- U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship) required for government project access.
- Ability to conduct fieldwork, including physical demands of site visits.
- Existing client relationships in NC/SC, Mid-Atlantic, or South-Central U.S. are a plus.
- Experience with higher education projects and NC State Construction Office systems is advantageous.
