We are seeking a Principal Engineering Designer to join a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in our Public Works Department. This role offers the opportunity to take designs from conceptual planning to final construction documents, mentor junior staff, and contribute to projects that have a lasting impact on the region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare grading plans, public improvement plans, water and sewer plans, and drainage/water quality plans from conceptual design to final plans.
- Develop and process technical studies and site plans to obtain entitlements for public works projects.
- Prepare project specifications and engineers estimates.
- Ensure adherence to jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures, particularly in San Diego County.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field staff to deliver high-quality results.
- Mentor and support junior staff in design processes and professional development.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
- BSCE (or equivalent) with at least 4 years of experience in land development and/or public works design (or 8 years equivalent work experience).
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.
- Knowledge of San Diego County jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
