Key Responsibilities- As the Director of Environmental Planning, you will:
- Lead and manage the preparation and processing of CEQA and NEPA compliance documents and related technical studies.
- Oversee client expectations, project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Direct and mentor a team of 25 staff members while ensuring quality control (QA/QC).
- Collaborate with clients, reviewing agencies (city, county, CDFW, RWQCB, USACE), and subconsultants.
- Prepare winning proposals and lead business development efforts with public and private sector clients.
- Grow brand recognition and expand environmental services throughout Southern California.
- Engage in strategic marketing, industry networking, and client development to build a strong pipeline of work.
Qualifications:
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Public Planning, or related field.
- 15+ years of relevant experience (candidates with less experience but strong credentials may also be considered).
- Deep understanding of CEQA/NEPA and environmental planning practices.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, proposal writing, and client management.
- Existing client relationships within Southern California are highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in a related discipline.
- Broad project experience across infrastructure, planning, and development sectors.
- Strong established relationships with agencies and key clients across the region.
