Key Responsibilities
  • As the Director of Environmental Planning, you will:
  • Lead and manage the preparation and processing of CEQA and NEPA compliance documents and related technical studies.
  • Oversee client expectations, project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Direct and mentor a team of 25 staff members while ensuring quality control (QA/QC).
  • Collaborate with clients, reviewing agencies (city, county, CDFW, RWQCB, USACE), and subconsultants.
  • Prepare winning proposals and lead business development efforts with public and private sector clients.
  • Grow brand recognition and expand environmental services throughout Southern California.
  • Engage in strategic marketing, industry networking, and client development to build a strong pipeline of work.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Public Planning, or related field.
  • 15+ years of relevant experience (candidates with less experience but strong credentials may also be considered).
  • Deep understanding of CEQA/NEPA and environmental planning practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, proposal writing, and client management.
  • Existing client relationships within Southern California are highly desirable.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a related discipline.
  • Broad project experience across infrastructure, planning, and development sectors.
  • Strong established relationships with agencies and key clients across the region.

Salary & Benefits
  • $155,000 $200,000 annually (commensurate with experience, education, and qualifications).
  • Additional annual incentive/bonus opportunities.
