We are seeking a Principal Engineering Designer to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact, landmark projects that shape the future of the Central Coast.

Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Engineering Designer, you will:

  • Prepare grading and public improvement plans from conceptual design through final construction documents.
  • Develop technical studies and site plans to support entitlements for a variety of land development projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and public agencies to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures to ensure project approvals.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall success of the project team.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
  • BSCE with 4+ years of experience in land development, or 8+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Strong expertise in preparing grading, drainage, and public improvement plans.
  • Proven experience with land development entitlement processes.
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and permitting procedures (Central Coast experience highly desirable).
  • AutoCAD and/or MicroStation/CADD proficiency required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
