We are seeking a Principal Engineering Designer to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA. This is a unique opportunity to work on high-impact, landmark projects that shape the future of the Central Coast.

Key Responsibilities

As a Principal Engineering Designer, you will:

Prepare grading and public improvement plans from conceptual design through final construction documents.
Develop technical studies and site plans to support entitlements for a variety of land development projects.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and public agencies to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs.
Apply in-depth knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures to ensure project approvals.
Mentor junior designers and contribute to the overall success of the project team.

Qualifications:

Qualifications

BSCE with 4+ years of experience in land development, or 8+ years equivalent work experience.
Strong expertise in preparing grading, drainage, and public improvement plans.
Proven experience with land development entitlement processes.
Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and permitting procedures (Central Coast experience highly desirable).
AutoCAD and/or MicroStation/CADD proficiency required.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
