• As a Senior Project Engineer, you will:
• Manage and oversee the preparation of construction bid documents, contracts, project schedules, and budgets.
• Lead construction support and field coordination efforts.
• Develop and review conceptual and preliminary engineering designs, considering land use, zoning, infrastructure, and regulatory factors.
• Oversee the preparation and processing of regulatory and public improvement plans.
• Provide constructability reviews and construction support services.
• Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures across California, especially within the San Diego region.
• Collaborate with clients, agencies, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth.
• Write comprehensive proposals, contracts, and scopes of work for both private and public projects.
• Contribute to business development by maintaining client relationships and actively participating in professional and community organizations.

Qualifications:

• BSCE degree plus CA Professional Civil Engineer license.
• 15+ years of directly relevant civil engineering experience (or 18+ years industry experience).
• At least 5 years in a management role supervising technical staff.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong leadership, client relationship management, and supervisory skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Local San Diego County and California-specific experience.
• Active participation in community and professional organizations.
• Strong understanding of regional jurisdictional processes and standards.
• Business acumen with experience in contracts, fee proposals, and marketing of services.
