Key Responsibilities- As a Senior Project Engineer, you will:
- Manage and oversee the preparation of construction bid documents, contracts, project schedules, and budgets.
- Lead construction support and field coordination efforts.
- Develop and review conceptual and preliminary engineering designs, considering land use, zoning, infrastructure, and regulatory factors.
- Oversee the preparation and processing of regulatory and public improvement plans.
- Provide constructability reviews and construction support services.
- Ensure compliance with jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures across California, especially within the San Diego region.
- Collaborate with clients, agencies, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth.
- Write comprehensive proposals, contracts, and scopes of work for both private and public projects.
- Contribute to business development by maintaining client relationships and actively participating in professional and community organizations.
Qualifications:
Qualifications- BSCE degree plus CA Professional Civil Engineer license.
- 15+ years of directly relevant civil engineering experience (or 18+ years industry experience).
- At least 5 years in a management role supervising technical staff.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong leadership, client relationship management, and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and project management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Local San Diego County and California-specific experience.
- Active participation in community and professional organizations.
- Strong understanding of regional jurisdictional processes and standards.
- Business acumen with experience in contracts, fee proposals, and marketing of services.
