Job description:
Position Summary:Responsible for the design, development, and validation of the GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection) fuel injector product line. This role will own DV and PPAP readiness for upcoming GDI injector families, develop and correlate spray/flow test methods, and manage application/design work for new programs. The position will work closely with manufacturing, testing, and application teams to ensure on-time launch and robust product performance. Reports to the Manager, Product Development. Competitors are in the Members only section NEW product launch in January.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead GDI injector design projects from concept through PPAP.
- Own DV (Design Validation) testing and readiness for production release.
- Develop, refine, and correlate spray and flow test methods (Baton, Loccioni, OEM correlation).
- Create and release detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure design for manufacturability and launch readiness.
- Support application engineering for OEM and aftermarket programs without pulling manufacturing resources into design work.
- Drive problem resolution for GDI products through root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

- The GDI experience does NOT have to be automotive.
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (or related field) required.
- MUST HAVE GDI (GASOLINE DIRECT INJECTION) experience
- 5+ years of experience in fuel injector design, with at least 2 years in GDI.
- Strong knowledge of injector internal geometry, spray pattern control, and fuel system requirements.
- Experience with validation test planning, execution, and correlation to OEM requirements.
- Familiarity with DFMEA, APQP, and PPAP processes.
- Proficiency in CAD (Creo preferred) and tolerance analysis.
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate across engineering and manufacturing teams.
