Assistant Dean WFD Work Force Development
Purpose of the Position:
The Assistant Dean will assist the Dean with instructional and management responsibilities for the specified Workforce Development site, be responsible for providing site supervision of nursing program activities, assist the Dean with implementing special projects, and work with and function under the supervision of the Dean.
Job responsibilities:
Assist the Dean with planning, developing, managing, updating, and evaluating all aspects of the program including, but not limited to:
- Manages faculty and staff.
- Serves as clinical site liaison.
- Develops and implements curriculum.
- Ensures program compliance with regulations and site visits.
- Prepares data for state/Board requirements and reports.
- Works with HR on faculty/staff documentation.
- Identifies external resources for program.
- Supports admissions and orientation.
- Maintains 50% teaching load in labs/clinical.
- Ensures timely course/clinical evaluations.
- Performs additional assigned duties.
Clinical Responsibilities
The Assistant Dean assists the Dean with the following aspects relate to clinical sites:
- Assesses clinical sites for safety, staffing, and course objective alignment.
- Meets with clinical faculty and communicates with Dean.
- Ensures timely clinical evaluations by faculty.
- Coordinates with Clinical Education Management for contract updates.
- Keeps minutes of inter-agency meetings.
Faculty Responsibilities
- Contributes to faculty team in preparing and presenting nursing curriculum.
- Supports strategic planning and program quality assessment.
- Submits reports to Assistant Dean on time.
- Stays updated on technologies and safety regulations.
- Engages in committee activities for program mission.
- Attends or delegates faculty meetings.
Student Responsibilities
- Develops skills lab/clinical orientation with faculty and partner.
- Assists in planning/reviewing nursing student recruitment/admission.
- Ensures students meet graduation/licensing requirements with Deans.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Valid RN license (CA or site-specific; CA costs covered if relocating).
- Masters in nursing preferred.
- 1+ year teaching in college in nursing programs.
- 4 years RN direct patient care experience.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Proficient in MS Teams, Zoom, LMS.
- Experience in supervision and budget planning.
