Environmental Geologist (PG)


Job description:

An established environmental consulting firm is seeking a Professional Geologist (PG) to join its growing team in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and executing environmental projects, from site assessments to remediation, across a range of commercial and industrial properties. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in both field and office settings, and who is passionate about protecting the environment through technical expertise and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct environmental field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
  • Perform Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and support remediation activities.
  • Analyze environmental data and prepare comprehensive technical reports in accordance with state and federal standards.
  • Provide consultative guidance on environmental conditions, regulations, and site remediation strategies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure timely and successful project completion.
  • Oversee and mentor junior staff on field techniques, safety, and reporting protocols.

Qualifications:

Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Professional Geologist (PG) license is required.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Proven experience conducting field investigations and data interpretation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
  • Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and environmental data management software is an advantage.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
