Job description:
An established environmental consulting firm is seeking a Professional Geologist (PG) to join its growing team in Queens, NY. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing and executing environmental projects, from site assessments to remediation, across a range of commercial and industrial properties. This position is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in both field and office settings, and who is passionate about protecting the environment through technical expertise and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct environmental field investigations, including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling.
- Perform Phase I, II, and III Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and support remediation activities.
- Analyze environmental data and prepare comprehensive technical reports in accordance with state and federal standards.
- Provide consultative guidance on environmental conditions, regulations, and site remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Oversee and mentor junior staff on field techniques, safety, and reporting protocols.
Qualifications:
Qualifications- Bachelors degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Professional Geologist (PG) license is required.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in environmental site assessment and remediation.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Proven experience conducting field investigations and data interpretation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and environmental data management software is an advantage.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
