Associate Dean of BSN


Job description:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our academic leadership team as the Assistant Dean of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of nursing education, overseeing the development and implementation of curriculum, and supporting faculty and students in achieving academic excellence.

  • Manage all aspects of the nursing program, including budgets.
  • Serve as liaison for faculty, staff, and clinical sites.
  • Oversee curriculum development, implementation, and Board compliance.
  • Conduct site visits and act as student advocate.
  • Develop and maintain program policies, procedures, and handbooks.
  • Manage supplies and equipment to meet program objectives.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and Board-required materials.
  • Maintain student and faculty records, including qualifications documentation.
  • Identify and secure external resources for the program.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Organize and participate in program committees.
  • Oversee student admission and orientation processes.
  • Develop articulation agreements with other colleges for course transfers.
  • Act as liaison between the college and community.
  • Establish and maintain clinical site partnerships and contracts.
  • Evaluate clinical sites for suitability, safety, and objective alignment.
  • Coordinate clinical rotations, objectives, and BRN approvals with agencies/faculty.
  • Collect and summarize clinical rotation evaluations; report to leadership and Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain minutes of inter-agency meetings.
  • Assist with nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
  • Conduct regular nursing faculty meetings and keep records.
  • Handle conflict resolution for faculty and students.
  • Build community relationships, advocate for, and market the program.
  • Monitor instruction quality and participate in program review and strategic planning.
  • Participate in professional nursing associations.
  • Collaborate with college departments (e.g., counseling, registration, financial aid).
  • Assist prospective students with support and degree planning.
  • Ensure proper student orientation to skills lab and clinical facilities.
  • Manage student appeals and grievances per policy.
  • Participate in recruitment and admission planning for qualified students.
  • Advise and provide academic support to nursing students.
  • Verify students meet graduation and licensing exam requirements.
  • Conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Monitor student performance, NCLEX pass rates, and job placement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all college policies and standards.

Qualifications:

  • MSN Completed
  • 2 years of experience in an administrative position.
  • 2 years of teaching experience in pre-or post-licensure nursing programs.
  • 2 years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board.
  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located.
  • Experience in supervision, planning, budget preparation and maintenance required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communications.
