Campus Dean


Job description:

We are looking for a Campus Dean, BSN Program to join our team.

This position will be responsible for the site supervision, development, planning, coordination, organization, implementation and evaluation of the nursing program activities.

  • Plans, develops, manages, updates and evaluates all aspects of the program including but not limited to:
    • RN program budget
    • Faculty and staff
    • Clinical site liaison
    • Curriculum development and implementation
    • Program compliance with Board rules and regulations; site visits
    • Student advocate
    • Program policies and procedures
    • Faculty and student handbooks
  • Manage supplies and equipment to meet program objectives.
  • Prepare reports, proposals, self-studies, surveys, and other Board-required materials.
  • Maintain student academic records and faculty/staff qualification documentation (collaborate with HR).
  • Identify and secure external resources for the nursing program.
  • Develop and implement program policies and procedures.
  • Organize and serve on program committees.
  • Oversee student admission and orientation processes.
  • Write articulation agreements with nearby colleges for course transfers.
  • Serve as effective liaison between the college and community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support students and program consistency.
  • Establish and maintain clinical site partnerships and contracts.
  • Evaluate (or delegate) clinical sites for safety, risk, staffing, and alignment with course objectives.
  • Coordinate with clinical faculty/agencies on student numbers, assignments, schedules, objectives; submit BRN approval forms.
  • Collect clinical rotation evaluations from students, faculty, and sites; prepare summary reports for Dean, CAO, and Advisory Committee.
  • Maintain minutes of inter-agency meetings.
  • Participate in nursing faculty recruitment, hiring, and orientation.
  • Ensure regular nursing faculty meetings occur and minutes are kept.
  • Handle conflict resolution for faculty and students.
  • Build and maintain community relationships; advocate for and market the program.
  • Monitor instructional quality and contribute to faculty/program review, evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Maintain membership and participate in professional nursing associations.
  • Represent nursing interests with other college departments (counseling, registration, financial aid, etc.).
  • Provide advising and degree planning support to prospective students.
  • Ensure students are properly oriented to skills lab and clinical facilities before rotations.
  • Manage student appeals and grievances according to policy.
  • Participate in planning and review of nursing student recruitment and admission.
  • Advise and offer academic support to enrolled nursing students as needed.
  • Verify students complete all requirements for graduation and licensing exams.
  • Conduct Nursing Advisory Committee meetings.
  • Track and monitor student performance, NCLEX pass rates, and job placement outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • MSN and DNP completed
  • 2 years in a Similar Role managing BSN Nursing
  • Must hold a current RN license in the state where the campus is located (this is a plus-will eventually need to obtain)
  • A masters or higher degree from an accredited college or University that includes course work in nursing, education or administration
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in pre- or post-licensure nursing programs
  • At least two years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care and/or equivalent experience as determined by the Board
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
