JOB DESCRIPTIONPOSITION SUMMARY

This Civil Engineer role assumes working with stakeholders within the Greenville office to provide direction for Wastewater projects and supplemental Civil Engineering support. Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities, such as roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, and water and sewage systems. Plays an integral role ensuring goals are achieved and all activities performed to support the strategy, vision, and core values of the firm.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies.
  • Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Review and critique proposals, plans, or designs related to water or wastewater treatment systems.
  • Working with discipline lead engineer in identifying scope changes in projects.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data
  • Evaluate technical data to determine effect on designs or plans
  • Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of facilities, such as water supply systems, runoff collection networks, water and wastewater treatment plants, or wastewater collection system

REQUIRED CAPABILITIES

Qualifications

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • The majority of work is in an office setting, with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Periodic construction site visits to gather project data and informtaion.
  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet project needs.
  • May require short periods of travel (2-5 days)

Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Education: Bachelors Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in civil-site engineering.
  • Working knowledge of civil stormwater analysis software (SSA, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, and/or ICPR) including operating and interpreting results.
  • Ability to read and understand local and state land development codes are essential.
  • Professional licensure is required
