Job description:
Essential Duties
- Develop manufacturing process(es) for new products
- Spec and procure all manufacturing equipment and tooling
- Create process routings and manufacturing process metrics
- Develop Process FMEA
- Performs manufacturing cost analysis
- Assists in make or buy cost analysis for component parts
- Improves process/ Reduce manufacturing costs by use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma Tools
- Resolves technical issues with respect to process performance (TPM, OEE)
- Assists in product transfer from development to production
- Develops/Implements training methods for manufacturing and maintenance
- Develop preventive maintenance procedures and metrics
Ergonomic Focus
- Working at desks and production floor work stations
- Readingreports.
- Verbal and written communication including use of telephone and computer
- Standing/walking/sitting during 8 hour work day
- Lifting up to 20 lbs frequently
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial)
- Prefer Automotive Tier 1 or Tier 2 experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills, MS Office and CAD software (AutoCAD, ProEngineer, SolidWorks)
- Experience developing tooling and equipment specifications
- Experience with tooling and equipment vendors (quotations, contracts, and delivery/installation, project management)
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools or other problem solving tools
- Experience developing/monitoring/improving complete manufacturing processes
- Experience with TS16949 requirements
- Proven track record of on schedule/under budget project management
