Electrical Project Engineer
Location: Westfield, Indiana
Salary: $60,000 $75,000
Role Overview
As a Project Engineer, you will drive complex electronic manufacturing and process improvement projects from concept to completion. You will collaborate with engineers, production teams, and customers to ensure technical systems are delivered efficiently and with precision. Whether managing test equipment builds, improving production processes, or developing documentation, you will be a key force behind successful project execution.
This role demands a detail-oriented, data-driven individual who takes initiative, works independently, owns tasks without handholding, and communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management: Manage cross-functional projects from requirements gathering to delivery, developing and maintaining schedules, budgets, and documentation with minimal oversight.
Technical Planning: Translate customer and internal requirements into actionable technical plans.
Operational Coordination: Coordinate procurement, fabrication, installation, and production resources to ensure schedule execution.
Financial & Quoting Support: Ensure budgets for labor, materials, and subcontractors are met, and support quoting efforts through material and labor estimation.
Continuous Improvement: Create and refine engineering documentation, SOPs, and BOMs, and drive process improvements through metrics, analysis, and technical documentation.
Communication: Facilitate communication between customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or similar) OR a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain & Operations Management, Industrial/Manufacturing Technology Management, Operations Management/Business, Project Management, or Organizational Leadership and Supervision.
Technical Skills: * Experience with technical writing (authoring and maintaining precise, structured documentation).
o Proficiency with project planning tools (e.g., Excel, Gantt charts, scheduling platforms).
o Comfortable with data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
Preferred Skills:
o Experience with BOMs, MRP systems, or production support is a plus.
o Familiarity with lean manufacturing, 5S, or Kaizen methods is a bonus.
Personal Attributes: Demonstrated ability to manage tasks and projects with near independence, multitasking ability, and comfort in an ever-shifting environment.
