Machining Supervisor

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced, technically strong CNC Machining Supervisor to lead approximately 15 to 20 employees within a complex precision-machining environment. This individual will oversee daily production, staffing, safety, quality, productivity and employee development while working closely with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering and CNC Programming to resolve technical machining issues.

• Lead daily CNC machining operations and production priorities.
• Coach, train and develop machinists and floor leads.
• Manage employee performance, accountability and corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot equipment, tooling, setup, programming and quality issues.
• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T requirements and CMM output.
• Drive improvements in productivity, machine utilization, quality and workflow.
• Support Lean manufacturing, 6S and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Lead team meetings and coordinate with Engineering, Quality and Programming.

Qualifications:

• 5-10+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Minimum five years of CNC machining leadership experience.
• Advanced blueprint-reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Strong Lathe experience
• Strong technical understanding of CNC equipment, tooling, setups and machining processes.
• Ability to interpret CMM data and make sound production or quality decisions.
• Proficiency with micrometers, calipers and other precision measuring instruments.
• Proven employee coaching, performance-management and team-development experience.
• Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous-improvement experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency; ERP/MRP experience preferred.
• Aerospace or high-complexity precision-machining experience strongly preferred.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30 or comparable EHS experience preferred.
